Business with brownsuits

Jack Headed back to his apartment and quickly threw together his things into a backpack and grabbed his cyber deck. He doesn't even bother locking up knowing he will never be returning this location. Jack calls over to Gutter Rat as he scales down the steps 2 at a time and rushes out the door and onto the busy street quickly looking around for any sign of a possible tail. Thankfully GR picks up and wants to know what services he can provide this time of night.

Jack explains he will fill him in when they meet face to face just that he's in trouble and time is going to be of the essence. They agree to meet at their usual spot and then Jack hangs up. So far the coast has been clear and word has not yet gotten out that he is a marked man. Jack figures even though he did Sally a solid in the short term the triad will  get the information from her one way or another on who he is and so he is running on borrowed time before the hitters will start looking to settle the score. His only hope now is to get out of the state and to hopefully join up with a strong group that has a dislike for the triads. Thats were ol GR comes in, getting him out and buying him time should be easy enough but getting him in with a crew that is willing to protect him from getting hacked to bits was going to be a bit trickier and certainly costlier.

He gets to their rendezvous point, an old deserted gas station in the ghetto. Jack doesn't See Gutter Rat yet and scans around to see if any one else is around. He sees a man in a brown suit and a suitcase standing by one of the pumps. He just looks over at Jack as if expecting him. "Come over here and be quick about it we haven't much time". Jack walks over and the man opens the briefcase and presents to him a data disk. "I know you will be leaving us here soon Mr. Diamond and I would hope I can call upon your services to see that this Disk is properly repaired and its contents safely delivered by calling the number on the business card in the suitcase." Jack is bewildered as to who this guy thinks he is and why he thinks he can right now of all time think he can just demand he handle this task for him? Brown suit says the disk contains data from RMG(stolen) that once restored would provide associates of the details needed to put pressure on some of the higher level execs(not true), and with that leverage they can see to it that he would no longer be under the watchful eye of RMG(in reality it is a new bit of software being developed by RMG that has long been in development and a rival corp has been able to get a damaged copy exported out, and are looking to get it restored so they can bring it to market before them. The entire thing is just an attempt at corporate espionage). Jack goes, look I don't work for free and promises of a pay day tomorrow doesn't help me today.  The man in the brown suit nods, "Of course not, there is 7k on a pre-paid credit voucher already in the suitcase and another will be provided on your successful completion of your task. You have 1 month to complete your task, by accepting the briefcase here and now you fully agree to these terms. The number on the card is only good one time so only call it when you have verified the disk has been restored. So what do you say Mr. Diamond can we count on you? Jack in desperate need of money for where he is going and a simple fixit job shouldn't be too hard to swing along the way, he grabs the briefcase and the man in the brown suit nods and begins to take his leave. "Pleasure doing business with you Mr. Diamond."

A few minutes later Gutter Rat rolls into the parking lot with his van. Jack thinks to himself that messing with RMG is just about as stupid as it gets but perhaps this disk might be the leverage he needs to curry favor with his former employer, and perhaps a stepping stone in ridding himself of his death mark.
